Our Mission
WHAT WE WANT FOR OUR SPECIAL NEED CHILDREN
We work for children who are differently abled , orphaned , abandoned or whose families are unable to take care for them. We give these children the opportunity to build lasting relationships with a family . Our family approach in Adarsh Bhawan is based on four principles .Each child needs a mother, and grows up most naturally with brothers and sister , in their own house , within a supportive friendly environment.

At Aura Welfare Foundation we enable girls to develop their skills and to be active member of the community. We help these differently abled girls to recognize and express their individual abilities , interests and talents. A HOPE FOR THE BETTER WORLD FOR SPECIAL NEED CHILDREN
Aura Welfare Foundation is a non-profit voluntary organization created solely with the purpose of rehabilitating the disabled special need children . It has been successfully providing rehabilitative services to children with autism, mental and multiple disabilities. Aura literally means 'a longing/ aspiration' of a child. The organization has been named aptly, for at its heart lies an earnest longing to see such children on their feet as happy, useful, integrated members of the society. To serve this purpose, we constantly strive towards improving the services and programs by introducing new research led innovations & equipping our centers with the latest state-of-the-art technology in our programmes. The organization has come a long way in supporting and serving specially abled Children. Aura Welfare Foundation has developed unmatched expertise in handling special individuals and developing them into happy, independent, confident citizens, capable of contributing to the society and the nation in the best way they can.

Family Like Care
A curative programme of Aura Welfare Foundation, reaches out to over abandoned mentally disabled girls and boys across India. All round development including education, nutrition, health and psychological development is taken care of till the children are settled in their lives.
Family Strengthening Programme
A preventive community intervention programme, Designed to prevent mentally disabled children from losing parental care or from being abandoned, this programme runs in slums and rural areas. The beneficiaries of this programme are children of the most vulnerable lot i.e. children of widows, single women, and Below Poverty Line families. Spanning 13 to 45 years, the programme aims to enable special children for dignity and self-reliance by ensuring education and income generating capacity development of the care givers.
Taking a child rights based approach this programme attempts to assist and empower these children in communities. In the process it strengthens not only the families and their special children whose upliftment it basically aims at, but also creates a vibrant network within the community that will last much longer and become sustainable in caring for the vulnerable families for a very long period.
Education
EQUIPPING YOUNG MINDS -SCHOOL READINESS
Special Children of different age and learning levels come to Aura Welfare Foundation .We have an effective in-house preparatory curriculum practiced. It enables children to learn on their pace, as per their age and learning levels. It inspires joyful learning in an engaging environment.. The progress of children is tracked every six months and it was observed that all of them were settling in well with promising academic performance. In the coming year, they will be supported to finish assignment independently and be more curious to ask questions.
DIGITAL READING AND LEARNING
Children at Aura Welfare Foundation enjoy the digital library that has vast collection of books ranging from Pre-Primary, Primary. Many children accessed online books. Children are equipped with a basic computer system, which children use one by one during their leisure. Besides using academic books, a number of Motivational, Storiesy and Britannica Series also occupy their minds.
MITIGATING LEARNING LEVEL GAPS
Children of Aura Welfare Foundation come from diverse and complex social and emotional histories. Consistent investments in building their capacities and academic skills require sustained efforts. Under a new initiative children needing additional attention were Teachers prepare age and grade appropriate learning plans, which is reviewed every month and at every quarter. The assessments show significant improvements in learning levels, leading to a promising academic results, when the academic session is over.
Counseling

- Making their environment more accessible by one to one counseling.
- Open communication is maintained, goals and expectations regarding the treatment is clear, and bench marks are created to help you measure special mentally disabled child’s progress.
- Treatment modalities with children involve play and art therapy to speak to the child in their natural language and help them master control in a safe context, and cognitive behavioral interventions are utilized to help them improve their thinking and problem solving skills.
Play Therapy
PLAY IS EVERYTHING TO SPECIAL NEED CHILD DEVELOPMENT
The benefits of play therapy are exhaustive, but to name a few, play is a universal way that children communicate, learn, express, build relationships, reflect, and problem solve.
WE EMBRACE A VARIETY OF THERAPEUTIC PRINCIPLES AND THEORIES FOR INDIVIDUAL THERAPY.
We apply Psychodynamic theories approach In a collaborative effort, helps our kids to develop and refine new tools for improved stress management and self-care. This approach also assists us with establishing greater insight into how their personality is developed, which motivates behaviors.
COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY (CBT)
helps us to identify and change patterns of negative thinking. With this approach, we come to know the patterns of thinking tend to be.We can replace negative thoughts with those that are more balanced, positive, and reality-based. We make them develop more rational and realistic thoughts, more positive actions and healthier habits will follow. In experiencing these changes, we will foster a healthier, more accepting relationship with our kids . This approach enables you to change how they feel about themselves .
MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEWING
Motivational Interviewing Skills may be utilized to help us explore how the kids feel about change. Together, we have a therapeutic conversation that helps the kids to ponder what their values are and what goals they have. This modality helps us to plan and implement a course of action to help them create and maintain the outcomes they desire.
ATTACHMENT BASED THEORIES
Attachment based theories (also psychodynamic in origin) are based on helping them recognize the quality of bonds they share with people.
Emergency Response
Aura Welfare Foundation of India has always moved deftly to answer the call of the special children in need in many natural and man-made disasters. At all these places,Aura Welfare Foundation has undertaken emergency relief work and rehabilitation programmes . Through its emergency relief and rehabilitation work, Aura Welfare Foundation has extended support to many more beneficiaries.
